The vision / English
The courage to understand.
The discipline to act.
Our name
For our group, Prakram (पराक्रम) expresses courage, resolve and the initiative to act on what we learn. Research asks us to question familiar answers, attempt difficult experiments and revise our thinking when evidence demands it.
The lotus: knowledge that unfolds
The lotus represents learning and the growth of understanding. In the lab, insight emerges through patient effort: reading, building, testing, failing and trying again. Its unfolding petals remind us that knowledge is developed, not simply received.
The Chakra: purposeful progress
The golden Chakra, inspired by the Sudarshan Chakra, represents precision, movement and continuous progress in our lab’s visual identity. Its outward-pointing details express the ambition to carry knowledge beyond the laboratory into useful systems and meaningful contributions.
Colour and balance
Crimson and rose suggest energy and committed effort; restrained gold suggests care and excellence. The balanced geometry reflects our aspiration for scientific rigour. Ivory and midnight indigo keep the identity calm, readable and contemporary.
A motto for everyday research
ज्ञानेन प्रकाशः asks us to seek clarity through knowledge. कर्मणा प्रगतिः asks us to turn that understanding into progress through work. For students, the message is practical: understand the question, test the idea honestly, document what you learn and build something meaningful.
These are interpretations adopted for the lab’s identity. The Sanskrit motto is an original formulation for Prakram Labs, not a quotation from scripture.
